Terms of service

Last updated September 26, 2026

These terms cover your use of LibreHost website and email hosting. In short: pay for what you use, keep your own copies of anything important, don’t use the servers for anything harmful, and there are no refunds. The details are below.

Who we are

LibreHost (libre.wtf) is run by Ranzy Campbell, a sole proprietor in Katy, Texas. “We” and “us” mean LibreHost. “You” means the person or business that holds the account.

Questions about these terms: info@libre.wtf.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 to create an account or buy hosting.
  • Give us a real email address you check. We send billing notices, account warnings and control panel login codes there.
  • You’re responsible for everything done with your LibreHost login and your control panel login, and for keeping both passwords safe.
  • Control panel logins always need a code emailed to your account address. Use an address that isn’t hosted with us, so you can still get the code if something is wrong with your hosting.

What you’re buying

Each plan is a hosting account on our servers in Dallas, Texas: the websites, storage, databases, mailboxes and forwarders listed for that plan when you buy it. You add and manage your websites, domains and email yourself in the control panel.

You register and own your domain names. We don’t sell domains.

We may change plans, features or prices. A price change never affects the period you’ve already paid for; we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.

Billing

  • Payments are processed by Stripe and sold through Link, Stripe’s checkout service, which acts as the seller for the transaction. Your receipts come from Link, and your card statement shows LINK.COM* LIBRE.WTF.
  • Prices are in US dollars and don’t include sales tax. Tax is calculated and added at checkout based on your billing address.
  • You pay in advance for a month, 6 months or a year. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • You can update your card, see invoices and cancel from your account page, or at link.com.

Upgrades

You can move to a bigger plan or add extras at any time. Upgrades take effect right away and you pay a prorated charge for the rest of your current period, charged to the card on file. If that payment doesn’t go through, nothing changes. Upgrades can’t be reversed.

Smaller plans

There are no self-service downgrades. If you need a smaller plan, email us. You’ll first need to remove whatever doesn’t fit the smaller plan (extra websites, mailboxes and so on); we then switch your plan at your next renewal.

Add-ons you can turn off

Automatic backups can be turned off from your account page. It keeps working until the end of the period you’ve paid for and then stop; there’s no refund for the rest of that period.

Cancelling, failed payments and deletion

  • Cancelling stops your next renewal. Everything keeps working until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it for about two weeks while your hosting keeps running. Update your card in that time to avoid any interruption.
  • Paused accounts: once your paid period ends without a payment, your account is paused: websites, email, FTP and scheduled tasks stop, and your DNS stays in place. Nothing is deleted yet. Paying or restarting your plan switches everything back on.
  • Deletion: 30 days after your account is paused, your websites, databases, mailboxes and files are permanently deleted. We email you when the account is paused and again 7 days before deletion. Your LibreHost login itself stays, so you can start a new plan later.

See the refund policy for what happens to payments when you cancel.

SSL

SSL is included with every hosting plan. Once a website’s domain points to us, our server requests a free certificate for it from Let’s Encrypt, a nonprofit certificate authority, installs it, and renews it automatically before it expires. Visitors are sent to the secure https:// address.

We manage certificates for you, so installing your own certificate isn’t available. If a certificate can’t be issued (usually because the domain doesn’t point to us yet), we keep trying automatically.

Backups

Our backups

Every night we copy all website files and databases on the server to a separate server and keep those copies for 30 days. They exist so we can rebuild the server after a disaster, like a hardware failure. We don’t restore individual websites, databases or files from them on request.

Email isn’t backed up. Keep any messages you can’t lose in your mail app’s local folders, or somewhere else you control.

Automatic backups (add-on)

With the Automatic backups add-on, your websites and their databases are backed up every day and the latest 7 copies are kept. You can restore a copy yourself in the control panel, or download it. We set the schedule and the number of copies; changes made in the control panel are reset to match.

These copies are stored on the same server as your websites. If that server is lost, we rebuild your websites and databases from our own nightly backup, but the copies in your control panel may not come back. Download copies regularly and keep them somewhere else. We’ll send you a monthly reminder. Your own downloaded copies are your safety plan; ours are for disasters only.

Email

  • Mailboxes are 2 GB each by default. You can divide your plan’s total email storage between your mailboxes differently in the control panel.
  • Forwarders are limited to the number your plan includes. There are no catch-all addresses.
  • You can only send mail as addresses that belong to your own account.
  • Outgoing mail has hourly sending limits per mailbox and per domain, and a single message can go to at most 100 recipients. These limits protect everyone on the server from spam problems. Mailing lists and bulk mail aren’t allowed.
  • Forwarding is for passing your own mail on to an inbox you read, not for forwarding large amounts of other people’s mail.

Spam filtering

Incoming mail is scored by our spam filter. You can choose the level for each of your domains in the control panel:

  • Normal (the default): likely spam goes to your Junk folder, and obvious spam is rejected.
  • Not enabled: less goes to Junk, but mail that scores as clear spam is still rejected, to protect the server’s reputation.
  • Strict: used automatically on domains that only forward mail, so we don’t pass spam on to other providers.

FTP

FTP connections must be encrypted (FTP over TLS). Connect to dfw.libre.wtf with an FTP app that supports it, such as FileZilla.

Your domains and DNS

Every domain you host with us must use our nameservers, and we manage its DNS records for you. Running your domain’s DNS elsewhere isn’t supported: if its nameservers stop pointing to us, its website, email and SSL stop working until they’re changed back.

You can add TXT and CNAME records from your account page, for example to verify your domain with another service. Records you add are your responsibility, and we may remove any that interfere with your hosting. If you choose Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for a domain’s email, that email service is between you and that provider.

Acceptable use

Your storage and bandwidth are for active websites and email.

Content we don’t host

Whether or not it’s legal where you are, you may not host, sell, promote or link to:

  • pornography or other sexually explicit material, or escort, cam or other sexual services;
  • gambling: online casinos, sports betting, poker, lotteries, or sweepstakes and games played for money or prizes of value;
  • illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or the sale of prescription drugs without a prescription;
  • counterfeit goods, pirated software, films, music or books, license key cracks, or sites that help others find them;
  • hate speech, or content that promotes violence, terrorism or violent extremist groups;
  • scams and deceptive schemes, such as pyramid or get-rich-quick schemes, fake shops, fake reviews, or pretending to be another person or business;
  • other people’s private information published without their consent (doxxing), or software for secretly spying on people;
  • anything that sexualizes or exploits minors, which we report to the authorities.

Regulated products

You may sell firearms, ammunition and related accessories, and other legally regulated products, only in full compliance with all federal, state and local laws that apply to the sale, including licensing, background checks, age limits, and rules on where and how items may be shipped. You alone are responsible for that compliance. We may suspend a site we believe is selling in violation of those laws.

Things you may not do

You may not use LibreHost to:

  • store files that aren’t part of a website or email, such as personal file storage, backup dumps or archives;
  • host or stream audio or video files (embedding YouTube, Vimeo and similar is fine);
  • send spam or unsolicited bulk email, or run mailing lists;
  • host or spread malware, phishing pages or scams;
  • host anything illegal in the United States, or content that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark;
  • harass, threaten or abuse anyone;
  • attack, scan or break into other systems, or run open proxies, VPN exits, bots or cryptocurrency mining;
  • resell or share your hosting with others as a service;
  • use so much of the server’s processing power, memory or connections that other customers are affected.

We decide whether content or activity falls under these rules. If you break them, we may remove content, suspend your account or close it. In serious cases (malware, phishing, spam, illegal content, or any content listed above) we may do that immediately and without notice. There’s no refund when an account is suspended or closed for breaking these terms.

Support

LibreHost is self-service: you manage everything in the control panel and your account page, with help from our guides. You can email us, or call 346-603-7077 Monday to Friday, with questions about your account and our service. We don’t build or fix websites, install or troubleshoot software for you, or debug your code.

Help building your website

If you want help building, fixing or maintaining your website, or installing software, you can hire PHP Studio or RJC3rd Consulting. They are separate businesses owned by the same person as LibreHost. Their work isn’t part of your hosting: it’s arranged directly with them, under their own terms and pricing, and billed separately at an additional cost to you. These terms don’t cover their services, and you’re never required to use them to host with LibreHost.

Availability

We work hard to keep everything running, but we don’t guarantee any particular uptime. We sometimes need maintenance, and we’ll give notice of planned work when we can. Outages don’t lead to refunds or credits.

Limits on our responsibility

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for lost data, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Keeping your own copies of your websites and email is your responsibility.

You agree to cover us against claims that arise from your content or from how you use your hosting.

Ending the service

You can cancel at any time as described above. We may stop offering the service with at least 30 days’ notice by email, or close an account that breaks these terms as described under acceptable use.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Texas.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to your account, we’ll email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use LibreHost after that means you accept the updated terms.
